No single organization can break the complex barriers facing girls in Africa and education in Liberia. WESAP and Strategic Aid Partners have partnered to open Excel Academy, an all-girl STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) boarding school, in Crozierville, Liberia. We need your support to make sure every girl can pursue her dreams and contribute her successes to her community, her country and our world. Investing in girls’ education is an essential way to invest in a better world.
Education is a fundamental human right and essential for the exercise of all other human rights. Education has helped all of us to become more productive citizens. We have learned to pursue our dreams and achieve our fullest potential. Acquiring quality education can empower young people, especially girls, to pursue positive changes in their local and global communities.
We know educating girls means a world of more educated women who tend to be healthier, earn more income, have fewer children, and provide better health care and education to their own children, all of which can lift households out of poverty. Poverty is the biggest barrier to a girl’s education.
When a young girl is not educated she is more vulnerable to violence, poverty, and disease. But it doesn’t just hurt girls: it affects their families, their communities – even their countries. When girls have the chance to learn, they raise healthier families, earn higher salaries and contribute more to their nations’ economies. This STEAM girls school will make a marked difference.
Excel Academy will prepare and empower girls in a country that is in dire need of quality education opportunities.
Will you help us to ensure that girls in Liberia will acquire quality education while we tackle the social and economic factors that deny their right to education?
